Robert Snyder

Robert Snyder, 26 of Halbur, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Officiating will be Fr. Timothy Johnson from Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Casket Bearers will be: Anthon Torgerson, Tim Brown, Scott Grote, Greyson Gust, Alex Brain, Cory Riesenberg, Brian Spaen, and Michael Kanne. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 p.m. on Friday where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll at 9 a.m. on Saturday until time of the service. Robert Eugene Snyder was born on November 3, 1987 at New Richmond, Wisconsin, the son of Larry and Lora (Long) Snyder. He spent his childhood in Somerset, Wisconsin where he attended elementary school. In 1997, his family moved to Halbur and Robert attended Carroll Community Schools graduating from Carroll High School with the Class of 2006. He then furthered his education at DMACC in Boone and Iowa State University. Robert held several jobs in Ames later moving back to Halbur with his family where he was currently living. Robert was a huge Xbox and gaming enthusiast. He also enjoyed fishing, horror movies, and quoting movie lines. He had the gift of making anybody he was surrounded by laugh and smile. His greatest joy was spending time with his entire family who will miss him dearly. Robert is survived by his parents: Larry and Lora Snyder of Halbur; his sisters: Jessica Grote and her husband Scott and their children, Ashlynn and Kayli of Breda, and Nichole Gust and her husband Greyson of Carroll; his grandmother, Evelyn Long of Coon Rapids; his grandfather, Robert Snyder of Carroll; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended relatives and many friends. Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother Phyllis Snyder; his grandfather, Frederick Long Sr. and his uncle Jim McNeill.
