Tom and family, Dave and I are so sorry for your loss, Sharon and I started working at Dedham-Willey School in the fall of 1975. We shared so many good times there in Willey. Sharon talked about all of you all the time. I remember when she wanted a new car called the Honeybee and finally Tom got the hint and bought it for her! She was so happy and excited to drive it. It was a little 2-door car and many times she had to give our principal who over 6 feet tall and heavier-set a ride down to Dedham once a week. We all laughed about the stories she told about those rides.
Sharon used to change her hair color a lot in those days and we laughed when she told us her mom wished she would just go back to her original hair color just once!
I remember when she wanted new siding on her house! She told us about how she would tease, bug, leave notes begging Tom for new siding! When Tom said yes, she couldn’t wait to tell us that she finally talked you into it!
Sharon always told us stories about you kids when you were growing up. I always felt like we knew you so well! She was so proud of all of you!
Sharon also got called on to sub for us from time to time at D-W. I always felt badly if my classes would misbehave for her. She never complained about having to be a sub!
When she moved to Holy Trinity in Halbur-Templeton-Roselle and I joined the faculty there, it was like one big happy family again with some extra special new people! Whoever she met in any of her schools, became part of her extended school family.
I could share more stories about her, but I’ll close here and just end by saying I loved Sharon so much and I am so glad to get to talk with her a few weeks ago at Regency. She knew me, even though she couldn’t say it; she just held my hand and squeezed it, looked into my eyes and there was the Sharon I’ve always known. Sharon was one special person and will be missed greatly by all of you and many more people whose lives she has touched over the years.
PS: I’ll bet she and the Lord are getting all caught up now!
Rest easy, Sharon, and don’t stay up too late catching up with everyone!
