When I was in junior high, Tom brought his sister (Mary Berry) and I up to the University of Iowa where we spent the weekend with my sister and Tom treated us to an Iowa football game. I remember the drive home when he took a shortcut through the Cou Falls – Amana road. I still take that road when I go to Vinton, and I remember the lovely young man who was so kind to two little girls.
