Our Brother is Home
Home is a place of safety and rest A time to spend with family and at best A place to go at the end of each day A haven that keeps scary things at bay Our brother has travelled home many times before But this time his way home leads him onto a different path for sure To the home of his Father, his Redeemer, his Lord Where, for Bob, there is no more suffering, loneliness, or pain Only sounds of the angels singing, “Holy, Holy, Holy” again and again Oh yes, there are sunflower seeds, peanuts, and crackerjack All those old NY Yankees are suited up and playing a game And Bobby Joe calls out to each of them by name We are sad that he has left us behind without a thought But the smile on Bobby’s face removes all our doubt That he is enjoying himself in his Father’s home A place where all of us with Faith will someday go Where we will find a seat right next to Bobby Joe And echoing his voice, Go Yankees!
