Dad or Papa to his many grandkids and great grandchildren, was a man full of life with stories that were colored by his many life experiences. He belonged to a very extraordinary family, not only for their size, but for their close relationships with each other. This is where Dad formed the most important value for his life, that family is everything. It was important to him that every one of his kids and grandkids knew that he loved them and that he was always there for them.
Dad could strike up a conversation with anyone he came across, and never met a stranger. His neighbors, family, and friends, knew they could call him for help and he would drop everything to come over. He loved to spend his time playing the 3-13 card game with his family, going for his daily cards and coffee and always had time for one more cup.
During his retirement, Dad took pride in mowing the lawn for the St. Joseph’s church and for the town of Dedham. Making sure it looked perfect for Memorial Day. He loved to spend time with his grandkids/great grandchildren who filled his life with joy. Most importantly, his wife was the love of his life for 58 years. Their marriage and the fact that they were truly best friends, gave us kids an example of the foundation needed to have a strong and loving marriage.
We will miss our Dad/Papa, but know that he is in a better place and will always be watching over us, being our support from above. We will always love you, Dad.
