Mike was my first cousin,and while our time together was short and seldom ,he was always a pleasure to be with. Five years ago I went to visit Mike in his beloved Carroll,Ia.He was truely excited to show me his “home city”,and drove me to all of his local haunts before we had lunch is his favorite hangout. In 1966,Mike moved his family out to California for a “new beginning”.Mike secured a meatcutter position at a local supermarket, and all went well for about five weeks. Then the homesickness for Carroll set in,and Mike and Family returned to Iowa.He’ll be missed by all of us.
