Vera Siemann was a wonderful, intelligent, kind woman. I got to know Vera and Cecil after they moved to Carroll in the early 60’s through their son Greg… who has been a great friend to me since that time. Spending time in the Siemann home was always interesting with many spirited discussions of books, politics, local issues and other matters….and Vera could certainly hold her own. She was always good to me and always quick to set another place at their large table. However, looking back I’m sure the last thing she needed was another mouth to feed. I worked for Cecil one summer at his Culligan Water business where he attempted to teach a young college kid a little bit about dealing with customers, hard work and the importance of getting a good nights sleep and arriving at work on time. There were many good life lessons to be learned in the Siemann home and Vera was at the heart of that home.
Sleep well dear Vera and thanks for everything. Your rest is well deserved.
