Ralph Ricke, age 76, of Westside, Iowa, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 3, 2008, at St. John Church in Arcadia. The Celebrant will be Father John Thomas. Con-celebrant will be Father Richard Remmes. Lector will be Doug Ricke. Gift Bearers will be Sheryl Gust, Lori Tegels, and Cindy Dobson. Mass Servers will be Brian Ricke, Mitchol Vonnahme, and Kim Eich. Eucharistic Ministers will be Darlene Ricke and Julie Ricke. Casket Bearers will be John Hausman, Ron Hausman, Doug Ricke, Kevin Ricke, Tom Ricke, Dan Ricke, Keith Ricke, and Lynn Ricke. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Arcadia. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 P.M. Wednesday. There will be a Christian wake service at 7 P.M. Wednesday by St. John Parish. Mr. Ricke was born on October 10, 1931, at Wall Lake, Iowa, the son of George and Rose (Derner) Ricke. He spent most of his lifetime in the Arcadia community and attended country school and graduated from Arcadia High School. Mr. Ricke was a long time grain and livestock farmer south of Arcadia. He was a member of St. John Parish and the Woodmen of the World. He entered St. Anthony Nursing Home in April 2008. Mr. Ricke enjoyed his family, working on woodworking projects, and collecting antique toy tractors. Survivors include his sister, Esther Hausman of Carroll; a brother, Richard Ricke and his wife Marietta of Westside; nieces and nephews, Sheryl Gust and her husband Dale of Templeton, Ron Hausman and his wife LeaAnn of Carroll, Lori Tegels and her husband Lyle of Lake View, Cindy Dobson and her husband Tim of Las Cruces, New Mexico, John Hausman and his wife Sandy of Gilbert, Ariz., Doug Ricke and his wife Lori of Fairfield, Conn., Kevin Ricke and his wife Geri of Westside, Tom Ricke and his wife Julie of Clive, Dan Ricke of Urbandale, Keith Ricke and his wife Darlene of Vadnais Heights, Minn., and Lynn Ricke and his wife Stacy of Urbandale; and many great and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Clarence Hausman; and a niece, Janice Hausman.
