Hildegard Rupiper, age 99, of Templeton, Iowa, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. The Celebrant will be Father Dale Reiff. The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 A.M. Tuesday to lie in state until the time of the funeral mass. The Templeton Catholic Daughters of America will form an honor guard at the church for the funeral mass. Lector will be a granddaughter, Renee Langin. Gift Bearers will be granddaughters, Linda Weyers, Rochelle Lehman, Brenda Rowedder, Nanci Rupiper, and Amy Taggart. Mass Servers will be Sara Langel, Alex Irlbeck, and Andrew Irlbeck. Eucharistic Minister will be a daughter-in-law, Kathy Rupiper. Casket Bearers will be grandsons, Dan Boes, Bruce Boes, Russell Boes, Ryan Rupiper, Brent Rupiper, and Kent Rupiper. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Monday by the Templeton Catholic Daughters of America. There will be a Christian wake service at 7 P.M. Monday by Sacred Heart Parish.
Hildegard was born on October 20, 1910, at Templeton, Iowa, the daughter of Clem and Anna (Fangman) Langel. She spent her lifetime in the Templeton community and attended Sacred Heart School. Following her formal education she helped her family on the farm. On September 11, 1933, she was married to Albert W. Rupiper at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton with Msgr. F.H. Huesmann officiating. The couple farmed north of Templeton until November 1976 when they moved to their home in Templeton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Parish Ladies Guild, and the Templeton Catholic Daughters of America. Hildegard enjoyed her family, playing cards, cooking, and gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Boes and husband Leon of Breda; her son, Bill Rupiper and wife Kathy of Templeton; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Rupiper of Okoboji; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her sisters, Justina Langel of Carroll, and Margaret Murray of Templeton; a brother, Vincent Langel of Templeton; and sisters-in-law, Viola Langel of Carroll, Bonnie Langel of Carroll, and Agatha Reiman of Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rupiper, in September 1996; her parents; a son, Glenn Rupiper, in 1986; a great granddaughter, Christine Lehman; her sisters, Clara Bauer, Mayme Bauer, Regina Schlichte, Anna Langel, Beatrice Langel, and Kathryn Dopheide; and brothers, Henry Langel, Adolph Langel, Joseph Langel, Edward Langel, Simon Langel, and Ted Langel.
