Pamela Schenkelberg, age 52, of Carroll, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Johnson. Lector will be a nephew, Bill Schenkelberg. Gift Bearers will be Pam’s siblings, Gary Schenkelberg, Tom Schenkelberg, and Debra Spurgeon. Eucharistic Ministers will be Clete Windschitl and Howard Johnson. Casket Bearers will be nephews and nieces, Bill Schenkelberg, Adam Schenkelberg, Justin Schenkelberg, Mindy CaVan, Lindsey Cose, Kelli Schenkelberg, Greg Spurgeon, Kurt Spurgeon, Eric Spurgeon, Ryan Spurgeon, and Alison Schenkelberg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. There will be no visitation. The Sharp Funeral Home of Carroll is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Pam was born on December 5, 1957, at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of William L. and Norma Jean (Wernimont) Schenkelberg. She graduated from Kuemper High School in 1976 and graduated from the College of St. Mary in Omaha with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha and was then employed in the mental health department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Pam later received her Masters Degree in Dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She returned to Carroll and was employed in the Diet Kitchen at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home and in the Physical Therapy Department at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Pam enjoyed her family, playing golf, crocheting, singing, reading, and exercise and health nutrition.
Pam is survived her parents, Bill and Jean Schenkelberg of Carroll; her brothers, Gary Schenkelberg of Carroll and Tom Schenkelberg of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Debra Spurgeon and husband Pat of DeWitt; and nieces and nephews, Bill Schenkelberg, Adam Schenkelberg, Justin Schenkelberg, Mindy CaVan, Lindsey Cose, Kelli Schenkelberg, Greg Spurgeon, Kurt Spurgeon, Eric Spurgeon, Ryan Spurgeon, and Alison Schenkelberg.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Sophie Schenkelberg and Ben and Elizabeth Wernimont.
