Isabel Henrich, 92 of Carroll, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Mass Servers will be Grant Sanders and Jacob Schaefer. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir with Jake Gute as song leader. Lectors for the funeral mass will be Lynn Boes and Stephen Boes. Gift Bearers will be Barbara Jean Lilly and Denise Muhlbauer. Eucharistic Ministers will be Pat Sanders and Jim and Lynn Boes. Casket Bearers will be: Gary Halbur, Randy Halbur, Jeff Sanders, Daryl Sanders, Jack Boes and Allen Boes. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of Americas will form an honor guard for the funeral mass.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of Americas and a Christian Wake Service by St. Lawrence Parish at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.

Born on October 31, 1919 at Arcadia, Iowa, Isabel Christina was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Leiting) Sanders. She grew up and attended school in the Maple River area. On November 11, 1941 Isabel married Leo “Lefty” Henrich at St. Francis Catholic Church in Maple River. The couple farmed in the Carroll area for many years and in 1975 retired and made their home in the Carroll. Isabel enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, fishing, playing cards, crocheting, and was also an excellent baker and cook. In her later years she enjoyed socializing with her friends over a cup of coffee. Isabel had a strong devotion to her faith, being active in St. Francis Parish in Maple River and St. Lawrence Parish in Carroll and was also active in the rosary makers group. She loved her family and always enjoyed taking pictures of them. Isabel was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll, Carroll Catholic Daughters of Americas, Rosary Makers Group, and formerly a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Maple River, and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary.
Isabel is survived by her sisters: Helen Halbur of Carroll, Elsie Boes of Fontanelle, Ethel Lilly of Fonda, and Agnes (Louis) Halbur of Halbur; her brothers: Richard Sanders of Downing, CA, and Kenneth (Janet) Sanders of Carroll; her sister-in-law, Pat Sanders of Carroll; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leo “Lefty” Henrich in November of 1986; one sister, Doris Salisbury; and one brother, Robert Sanders.
