Keith Murphy, 62 of Glendale, Arizona and formerly of Carroll, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Hospice of the Valley Gardiner Home in Phoenix, Arizona.
A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir with Jake Gute as song leader. Lector for the mass will be Peggy Murphy. Gift Bearers will be Keith’s nephews: Sean Murphy, Tom Wittrock, and Phil Storto. Eucharistic Ministers will be Keith’s brother Craig Murphy and his wife Peggy and Ann Christiansen. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Keith’s nieces and nephews. Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll at a later date.
Keith’s family will receive friends after 4 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. There will be a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. on Monday by the parish. The family will also greet friends and family one hour prior to the mass on Tuesday at the church.

Born on November 22, 1950 at Carroll, Iowa, Keith Joseph was the son of Edward and Donna (Hannasch) Murphy. He spent his younger years in the Carroll community and attended St. Lawrence Grade School and later graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1968. Following high school, Keith attended and graduated from the University of South Dakota. Keith lived in Omaha for years and worked at the Red Lion. After moving to the Phoenix area, he worked at Continental Catering and later ran his own business, Murph Haul. Keith loved animals, especially his dogs and cats, enjoyed listening to music, socializing and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his parents Ed and Donna Murphy of Carroll; his brothers: Alan (Judy) Murphy of Springfield, IL and Craig (Peggy) Murphy of Ft. Dodge; his sisters: Lu Ann (Joe) Wittrock of Mendota Heights, MN and Lisa (John) Storto of Bloomingdale, IL; as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other extended relatives.
Keith was preceded in death by his grandparents: Albert and Margaret Hannasch and Edward and Matilda Murphy.
