Margaret Schrad, 92, of Carroll, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Con Celebrant will be Fr. Michael Kellogg. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Lector will be Margaret’s son Dale Schrad. Gift Bearers will be Margaret’s daughter and her family: Anne, Warren, Lucy, and Molly Woodbury. Casket Bearers will be Margaret’s grandchildren. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Maple River.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll on Wednesday after 4:30 p.m. where there will be a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service by Holy Spirit Parish at 7:00 p.m.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:00 a.m. Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for the Kuemper Catholic School Foundation.

Margaret Elizabeth was born on August 18, 1920 in Carroll, the daughter of William and Anna (Mattes) Siepker. She graduated from St. Angela’s Academy. On October 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to Alois G. (Boots) Schrad. Margaret and Boots farmed in Carroll County until 1983 when they retired to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. Margaret enjoyed visiting with friends and family and playing cards.
Left to celebrate Margaret’s life are her children, Judy (Russ) Jeffrey of Bella Vista, Ark., Dick (Pat) Schrad of Knoxville, IA, Dale (Paula) Schrad of Cedar Falls, Mary Lynn (Jim) McCarty of Cedar Falls, Bill (Sue) Schrad of Maple River, Tom (Robin) Schrad of Denver, Colo., and Anne (Warren) of Fayetteville, Ark., 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; her sisters Collette (Maurice) Potthoff of Carroll, and Mary Ann Schlorholtz of Stroudsberg, Penn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Boots on January 10, 2001, and siblings, Leona Louis, Lawrence Siepker, Albert Siepker, Eleanor Smith, Leo Seipker, Raymond Siepker, and Bill Siepker.
