Born on January 10, 1918 at Lake View, Iowa, Annie was the daughter of Mine and Marie (Peters) Meyer. She grew up on her family’s farm east of Lake View and attended country school. Following her schooling, Annie worked as a nanny for a family near Carnarvon.
On February 3, 1948, Annie was united in marriage to Norbert Meister at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. The couple farmed near Carroll for a few years and then moved to their farm west of Breda where they continued to be engaged in farming. A devoted housewife, Annie also did cleaning for families in Breda, babysitting, and took on many duties at St. Bernard’s Church in Breda.
Annie was gifted at crocheting, quilting, loved tending to her flower garden, playing cards and socializing with her many friends. Her greatest joy was her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were so dear to her.
In 2000, following the passing of her husband, Annie moved to the Carroll community. Annie was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish and Parish Ladies Guild.
Annie is survived by her daughters: Bernice McQuirk and her husband Robert of Spencer, Alice Wolterman and her husband Dave of Carroll, and Shirley Snyder and her husband Bob of Carroll; her grandchildren: Rob McQuirk, Angela (Dave) Blum, Laura (Steve) Klocke, Jeff Snyder, and Tony Wolterman; her great-grandchildren: Samantha McQuirk, Ben Blum, Sean Blum, Parker Klocke, Addison Klocke, Briella Klocke, Owen Klocke, and Caden Klocke; her brother, Dick (Lois) Meyer of Lake View; as well as other extended relatives.
