Thomas Grabner, age 60 of Breda, died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Breda. The Celebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Music will be by Marilyn Hundling and the St. Bernard’s Choir. Lectors for the funeral mass will be David Johnson and Bill Kerns. Gift Bearers will be LouAnn Tigges and Shirley Ehlers. Eucharistic Minister will be Dave Grabner. Casket Bearers will be: Jim Grabner, John Grabner, Joe Grabner, Jennifer McLean, Phil McLean, Bill Stork, and Jim Bruggeman. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda after 4:30 p.m. on Monday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for New Hope Village.

Born on June 21, 1955 at Carroll, Iowa, Thomas was the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Bruggeman) Grabner. He grew up on his family’s farm near Breda. Thomas was one of the first residents with New Hope Village where he lived from 1978-2014. This past year, he was a resident at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake.
Thomas enjoyed watching television; especially movies and cartoons. He loved wearing ball caps and his stuffed animals. His favorite treat was always ice cream. Thomas was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish in Breda.
Thomas Grabner is survived by: his siblings: Linda (David) Johnson of Lincolnshire, IL, Jeanne Grabner of Carroll, Dave (Mary Lou) Grabner of Breda, Barb (Bill) Grabner-Kerns of Taylorville, IL, and Debra (John) Adams of Gaithersburg, MD; his nieces and nephews: Kimberly (Herman) Lo, Joe (Jerica) Grabner, Jennifer (Phil) McLean, Jim Grabner, and John Grabner; his staff family at New Hope Village, especially LouAnn Tigges and staff at north main home; as well as the staff at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Grabner.
