Mary Ellen Baumhover, age 64 of Carroll, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Mary Ellen’s Brothers. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Mt. Carmel, Iowa.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and will continue until the time of the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home to be directed to the New Hope Village in Carroll.

Born on November 26, 1951 at Carroll, Iowa, Mary Ellen was the daughter of Albert and Dora (Fehring) Baumhover. Mary Ellen was a resident of New Hope Village most of her adult life. During her last few years she became a resident of the Carroll Health Center. She enjoyed the great care from the staff at both facilities. Mary Ellen also enjoyed music, and coffee, but most of all Mary Ellen enjoyed her fellow residents at her New Hope Village Group Home.
Survivors include her siblings: Loras Baumhover of Auburn, NE, Leon (Janice) Baumhover of Carroll, Norb (Linda) Baumhover of Carroll, Harry (LaVonne) Baumhover of Carroll, Leonard (Janet) Baumhover of Audubon, Gene (Janet) Baumhover of Leawood, KS, Vern (Jean) Baumhover of Overland Park, KS, Mark (Vivian) Baumhover of Hills, Dean Baumhover of Scranton, Marita Moir of Des Moines, Donna (Mike) Stitz of Carroll, and Jane (Jim) Morrison of Dunlap, IL; her sisters-in-law: Anne Baumhover of Freemont, NE, Marcia Baumhover of Des Moines; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. She is also survived by her good friends at the New Hope Village and the Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Ann Baumhover (in infancy), Ray Baumhover, and Merle Baumhover. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, and sister-in-law: Everett Moir, and Diane Baumhover.
