Marguerite Reiling, age 103, of Carroll, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Accura Healthcare in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Jane Heithoff. Lectors for the Funeral Mass will be Donna Pudenz and Aly Fleming. Eucharistic Minister will be Lynn Schmitt. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Ed’s family. Casket Bearers will be Dan Otto, Bret Stork, Kyle Findley, Nick Rohde, Jeff Stork and Lucas Otto. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Breda.
Visitation without greeting the family will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Those in attendance are required to wear a face covering and abide by current social distancing guidelines.

Marguerite was born to August & Johanna (Fleskes) Wiederin on Feb 11, 1918 in Carroll, Iowa. She attended school at Our Lady of Mt Carmel & graduated from St Angela Academy in 1936. On January 18, 1940 she married Conrad Stork at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. They made their home on a farm north west of Breda until Conrad’s health failed & they moved to Auburn. They were blessed with 11 children. Conrad passed away in 1986. On August 6, 1988 she married Ed Reiling at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn. They made their first home in Auburn moved to Wall Lake & retired in Carroll.
Marg was a member St John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church, St Anthony Auxiliary, a volunteer at St Anthony Hospital & Nursing Home, & a charter member of “chat & sew” club. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, a choir member, usher, greeter & taught CCD for many years in the various parishes she attended. Marg also decorated the alters & made many banners for different church occasions.
She loved the Blessed Mother, calling her “her hired girl” helping her do the work for her family & house. Her faith, family, & nature were her pride & joy. Marg had a garden that provided the food, when canned that lasted until the next year’s crop. Marg as an excellent seamstress sewing for family & friends. She loved crafts & decorating her home. In her “spare time” she worked in the St Anthony Surgery Center & the Auburn Savings Bank for 26 years.
Marg is survived by her husband Ed Rieling, sons Gary (Kate) of Omaha, Doug (Kerry) of Portludow, WA, Dale (special friend Elaine), & Dean (Cheryl) of Carroll, son-in-law Bill (Karen) Rohde of Sunrise Beach, MO, 13 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren, & 4 great-great grandchildren. Bonus children Phyllis (Dennis) Cannon of Gretna, NE, Kay (Darrell) Getzfred of Lincoln, NE, Carol (Virgil) Mohr of Ft Collins, CO, Michelle (Allen) Reicks of Elgin, NE, David (MaryAnn) Reiling of Denison, & Denny (Diane) Reiling of Arlington, TX, 16 bonus grandchildren, & 10 bonus great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Conrad Stork, sons Dan, Ron, Gene, Neil, & John Stork, daughters Marilyn Rohde & Jan Otto, daughter-in-law Jolene Stork, son-in-law Gary Otto, grandchildren Joseph Otto, Christopher & Jennifer Rohde, Melissa Stork, & Erin Cannon. Also, her parents, parents-in-law, 7 brothers & 6 sisters, many relatives & friends.
